Privacy notice
Who we are
This website is run by the organisers of Aegean Cornea & Cataract XVIII (Corfu, 1–4 July 2027). For anything in this notice, write to aegean@med.uoc.gr.
What this website collects
The site has no registration, no forms and no user accounts, so it does not ask you for personal data. If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to see, in aggregate, how many people visit the site and which pages they read. It is switched off by default. It loads only after you click Allow analytics in the cookie banner.
If you allow it, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_* and records page views, approximate location (country or region), device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. IP addresses are not stored in Google Analytics 4. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and we do not use the data for advertising.
The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and the Greek ePrivacy rules). You can choose Only necessary, or change your choice at any time with in the footer. Choosing only necessary does not affect your use of the site.
Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards it provides, such as standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. See Google's privacy policy.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, it processes technical request data (such as IP address, browser and time of request) in server logs to deliver the site and keep it secure. This happens whether or not you allow analytics cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at aegean@med.uoc.gr. You may also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).
Changes
If this notice changes, the date above is updated.
